![]() New wood and old wood. You will use treated lumber for stringers and braces. You are simply going to glass over this wood and secure it to the hull. It is not vital that the fiberglass actually stick to it, as long as it wraps over it. However, for the floor, DO NOT used treated wood, because the fiberglass won’t adhere to it. Use your old stringers as templates for the new ones. That will give you the vertical dimension. However, you are going to need to use a planer and shape the bottom of the stringer so that it follows the shape of the hull on the bottom. This will take a lot of back and forth, planning and dry fitting. |
